Team Foundation Sidekicks is a suite of tools for Microsoft Team Foundation Server
providing convenient GUI for a wide range of administrative and advanced TFS version
control tasks.

Version 2.4 of Team Foundation Sidekicks application includes Labels Sidekick, History
Sidekick, Workspace Sidekick, Status Sidekick, Shelveset Sidekick, Code Review
Sidekick and Permission Sidekick and is intended to be used with Microsoft Visual Studio
and Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2005 and 2008.
Version 3.0 of Team Foundation Sidekicks application includes Labels Sidekick, History
Sidekick, Workspace Sidekick, Status Sidekick, Shelveset Sidekick and Code Review
Sidekick is intended to be used with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 and Microsoft Team
Foundation Server 2010 Beta 2.
Permission Sidekick
Permission Sidekick allows viewing the effective permissions of the user.
Global, project, version control items and areas permissions can be reviewed;
reason for every specific setting (membership in specific group) can be reviewed
as well.
Code Review Sidekick
Code Review Sidekick allows viewing the items versions originated in selection of
changesets or work items; selected item versions may be compared in the Sidekick GUI.
Shelveset Sidekick
Shelveset Sidekick provides Graphic User Interface frontend for management of the
shelvesets and viewing of shelvesets properties and shelved items contents.
Labels Sidekick
Labels Sidekick may be used to view all data that contained (either directly or
by association) in TFS source control labels, including files/folders, changesets
and work items. The tool also allows comparison of contents between two labels.
History Sidekick
History Sidekick is intended for viewing different aspects of item (folder or file)
history in Graphic User Interface. The information displayed includes item changeset
history, item properties and pending changes, item branches, item merge history
(merges from or merges to item), item merge candidates from different branches and
item labels.
Status Sidekick
Status Sidekick provides Graphic User Interface for viewing pending changes in TFS
source control repository and for
performing version control operations (such as Unlock or Undo) on selected changes;
the changes may be filtered by multiple criteria such as user name and check out date.
Workspace Sidekick
Workspace Sidekick allows viewing and performing administrative changes on TFS workspaces
in Graphic User Interface.
Team Foundation Sidekicks Visual Studio Integration Package (VSIP)
In addition to stand-alone application, there is also Visual Studio Integration
Package provided (both for VS 2005 and VS 2008) with the following functionality:
Code Review Sidekick integration to Source Control Explorer, Search Items
dialog, dynamic History update and Build Type editing integration for Team Explorer.
Additionally, all Sidekicks available in stand-alone application are also
available in Visual Studio environment.
